Walt, Disney.
(1988). Oliver and Company. America. Buena Vista Pictures.
This novel tells the story about a dog
that would not go in the adoption by people passing in a corner of the big
city, new york. oliver was wandering alone in the streets looking for someone
to adopt him, he met a dog named Dodger who assist him in stealing food from
the hot dog vendor named Louie, but when Dodger stole the sausage he didn’t
want to divide the sausage with Oliver. And then Oliver followed Dodger to the
edge of the city. There, on the riverfront was an old, rickety pier. Next to it
was an abandoned barge. This wasn’t the fancy part of the town. The barge was
filled with old, beaten-up furniture and broken-down appliances. Dodger live
there with a pack of other dogs. They called it home.
The cover
is really nice, and colorful. It shows Oliver and the gank. This novel explains that about
a dog that would not go in the adoption by people passing in a corner of the
big city. He feels lonely and want to have home and family.
Reading
this book reminds me a book called Petualangan Lima Sekawan authored by Enid Blyton
which tells 4 people and 1 dog have a
friendship like a family, between them are two orphans and they are also have
an adventure in every story same as with Oliver and Company.
Anyway, this is an interesting novel
to read. This simple tale of belonging and will
inspire readers of all kids.
